PLATOON BRAVO CAMP 2004 (part 2)

i've made it a point to blog about what happened at the camp and i'm going to stick to my words.

star event of the second day. the day when i will eventually take over ganda as company i/c and the 8.6km run around bedok reservoir. early morning wake up to go run two time around the reservoir. not funny. run on an empty stomach some more. surely won't die. but we never die.

when the run started, kay howe chiong all the way to the front and took the lead while i remained at the middle to slack first then overtake later. bad move, i lag until around the 3/4 of the platoon. and kay howe still chionging at the front. now he is accompanied by mr yeow who seems to have unlimited and unexhaustable stamina. pro. they ran and ran until the eventually became a speck of moving things that is out of my range of vision. w00t.

finished first round. i forgot my time already. then start WALKING the second round. no choice. too tired already. and my feet were being poked by tonnes of gravel trapped inside my shoes. have to empty them every 20 step. not funny. the speck of moving thing was still in front.

at the last 300m jogging with lester mo, we planned to chiong the last 300m together. then joel ko sit bicycle come want to challenge us see who faster. then both of us ran. and he lost. what a move. but then turns out that alan toh aka fittest cadet and ng ding jie was first and second respectively. w00t. and they went back to school already. with the unlimited stamina mr yeow.

nasi lemak for breakfast. cheat people one. the sausage cut into half lengthwise and placed with the flat side on the rice. do not be fooled.

after that was mutual and cnc (command and controla) i think. that one fun. joel goh's mutual had figure that looked like bubbles drawn on them. distorted things. kelvin tan and yap were laughing their asses off at that. and during cnc, different groups cut each other so many times that if we were to carry out 50 for each cut, we would be pumping until the night. and it was not even noon yet.

after lunch until evening was IFC, individual field craft which alan toh would eventually get best in.zi qi asked a good question. why should we go charge at the enemy? pro-ded. and he also thought that the GIRLO section was not the actual test but a mock. then he went to slack through the whole excersise only to realize it was real at the end. cover and concealment was fun. the only con was that you would get all kinds of sap on your hands and bodies which would leave you itching all over.

night time. doom time. all can go and die because it is time for bunk inspection. and i'm the company i/c. then nervous/stress/etc. etc. so unluckily, i went to SHOUT at my platoon mates with that devilish tone of voice i seldom use. end up getting reprimanded seriously for using that tone of voice. oops. sorry part-b if any of you were insulted/frightened/scared/pissed off by the way i shouted at you all. i sincerely apologise for that.

after the rather successful bunk inspection with the OIC boss sir gee ming wei who could talk to you till you rot from the inside due to the lousy feeling he gives you while using that nice soft tone to speak to you and that jockey cap which shadows his eyes and make you not know when he is scrutinising you and reading your soul and mind, it was time for night p.t. time to carry out the 2000 pumping we owed. wei sheng come ask me how many i want to carry out by myself and if i do, he will minus some from the total. so i said 200. he was shocked. all were shocked. but i did it. then now left with 1000 for 17 people to complete. we restarted counting at the 300+ and 400+ mark due to some cock-up in countings so when we finished, the cds people were all in awe of what we did and our hands were numb and bluish red with a hue of purple in it. cool.

sleep.

tomorrow is a long day. that's what they always say.
so come on, tell me.
me.
